Born-and-bred in Nottingham, John played cricket for Notts 2nd XI and came close to making it as a professional, before turning his attention to first photography and then film-making. After a stint as a runner and assistant director, a series of music videos and a low budget horror film led him to Channel 4, where he worked as an editor on promos. He then moved to Virgin Media as a full time creative & director, winning in his first year a Gold Promax for Best Newcomer, a Gold Promax for Best European Director and a Silver Promax for Best World Director. He joined Nice Shirt’s roster in early 2010, after shooting the stunning 'Darkroad' test film for Audi, and a commercial for Heart FM....
